Firstly thanks Mike and Yossi for arranging this session. I think the live meeting thing worked well but you guys were kind of running blind so I'm not sure if we need to have a better way of giving feedback and questions during the session. eg I could type one question for the entire meeting. Is there an option to have a shared chat/IM session for everyone to type away while listening?
If you can deliver the recorded meeting in an archive/list somewhere that'd be super cool for future reference, especially in referring to some of the more technical bits.
Re Geneva, I'm a big fan but am finding it hard to 'sell' this to the people who write the cheques. There's setting the desire in the developers to design and code based on this model, then the ability for admins to just make their platforms geneva-enabled plus the impact on the user experience - all of which can't be done in real-life yet as its not RTM (and we don't know the cost) but shouldn't stop the mentality and technique from being adopted early and Geneva being retro-fitted afterwards when appropriate.
Personally I'm looking to provide a consistent SSO for users across OS platforms, plus a common API/interface for developers to deliver secure apps with so this ticks most of my boxes. Apart from its not yet available, and its cost is unknown...
Thanks for the informative demo Yossi.
Re Successful BTS solutions, I reckon there is a gap here to define or recommend some best practices for fairly generic/standard solutions; naming conventions, use of a pseudo-envelope for routing of pub/sub messages, standards for property promotion and tracking, adoption of industry standard canonical schemas for common entities etc etc etc. Are there any docs already in existence for these, and if not is there anything stopping this group pushing some into the public domain (apart from intellectual property restrictions)?
Mike, hope the laptop gets better soon!
