    Site problems

There seem to be some issue with the site. I don't get emails sent to me about any events or newsletters (Mike thankfully knows this and forwards them to me Big Smile ). A colleague also says he has signed up and doesn't get emails either. I'm guessing something doesn't work for group mailshots.

Our site admin contacted me via my yahoo account the other day asking me to reply which I did. However, my reply was bounced. I also just tried sending this post as an email from my work email via the link on the front page (admin@sbug.org.uk) only to get this:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

    Subject: problems with emails

    Sent: 21/04/2009 15:44

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

    admin@sbug.org.uk on 21/04/2009 15:34

The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to. Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address.

    Re: Site problems

    Hi Matt,

I will raise this to Stephen, I think the couple of things to consider in the meantime:

    - Can you check your SBUG site profile to ensure the email configuration is setup to send you the alerts and notifications

    - Subscribe to the SBUG Blog, I will also post important things on the blog as well as in the forums

    http://sbug.org.uk/blogs/MainFeed.aspx

    - Finally there is also an SBUG twitter account which I post updates to SBUGUK which people can follow to get updates.

We will try to get this sorted asap

    Re: Site problems

Hopefully this is the key clue:

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

    admin@sbug.org.uk on 21/04/2009 15:34

    I'm on the case, now.

    Cheers,

    Steve

    Re: Site problems

I'm sure it'll come as no surprise to know that it's all my fault Sad

The Admin account was set to forward e-mail to my work account. I never actually logged-in to that mailbox.

Unfortunately, the mail service is set up so that it deletes any accounts that haven't been logged-in after four months.

So, the Admin mailbox got deleted. I suspect that, since the server sends e-mails FROM the Admin mailbox, that's why nothing was getting out.

I've recreated the Admin mailbox and now set my Outlook client to actually check it, so HOPEFULLY, we're all sorted.

    Very sorry for any inconvenience.

    Steve.

I've moved this post to the Site Feedback forum, though I think the problem's resolved, now.
